Cutting a tube exactly perpend to its axis can be a very big challenge if you are not used to handling tools or if you do not have appropriate workshop facilities.
Here is a simple trick that you can use for cutting a tube exactly perpendicular to its axis.
Take a ruled paper and wrap it around the tube such that the lines match exactly with each other. Try to match as perfectly as you can.
Now put a scotch tape the paper at joints so that the paper does not slip.
Now pull the paper tube back and apply some gum on the tube. The paper needs to be glued to the tube very strongly. Let the glue dry.
You can now start cutting the tube along the lines. First, make a slight cut all along the circumference of the tube. This is to safeguard in case the paper tube tears or gets misaligned.
After that make a clean cut of the tube. Use sandpaper to remove the rough edges.
Tip – you can use this trick if you have a tube which is not cut perpendicularly and also to make a tube of exact length.
